    Reel service?

Are there any places locally to have my reels serviced?
I don't have the patience or the know-how to do it myself

Bullfrog Creek. There's actually a guy there called the Reel Doctor.

    Thanks Daniel.

I was going to try it myself, but I don't want to mess anything up.

Pat, just take them to Bullfrog Creek on Bardstown Rd. in Louisville. They are very reasonable and have a good turn around time also.

I used to use a guy named Don Brown off Lower Hunters Trace Dixie Hwy area. I think it was called StrikeMaster. He always did good. Don't know if he is still around.

Dave, a guy I work with told me about him. I couldn't find a number for him.

There a guy I use in leitchfield (yeah I know a long way for most) named Delbert Decker that does great work and is cheap as hell. if I remember it right he was $7.00 for cleanings and then just plus parts if anything needed fixing.

Leitchfield ain't that far. I think I'm gonna try to clean one myself. (An old spare reel) and see how it goes.

here's some good articles about cleaning reels from rods and reels forum. I just did mine for the first time and it isn't hard to do.

    Re: Reel service? (Pat_Powell)

Like David said, Delbert is very cheap for cleaning and servicing reels. He is the only person that I use. It is 7.00 per reel serviced plus any parts and from what Ive had fixed it has never cost me over 13 bucks. If you want his phone number IM me and Ill hook you up.
