Thank God for some cold weather.

This cold weather has caused a good shad kill on Ky and Barkley lake. This should make the fishing better this year with a few less shad for the bass to gorge themselves on. With the warm weather we had been having the sea gulls could be seen around town looking for food, but they're back at the lakes now.

Now that we've had a shad kill it can warm up as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with ya on that one. Its always good to see a big shad kill around here. Most of the time it means fishing will be good the following year.

Its only getting started and it looks like it might get a little interesting in our neck of the woods Tuesday and Wednesday!! Calling for some of the biggest snow showers we have seen in several years.

Wonder if they get this one right or if it misses us like all the rest.

I was supposed to be missing all this and be in the Keys this week , but I had to cancel that to go to Europe on business. Now that was postponed till the end of March and I'm stuck in this flippin freezer. And I'll miss a week of the best crappie fishing.

That means the shad will be dying off on Dale Hollow too and that mean's I'm going to catch some smallies on float n' fly later on this week!
