help with a little proplem with 150 mariner

I tryed out the stratos tonight, and the motor starts great. But it smokes like crazy. When you got to get up on a plane it wont pick up and just bogs down. Now you can rev it up for a sec,,and you can hear the motor clear,,and look back and ya can`t see anything for the smoke. But once it clears, it`ll put up and get on a plane and runs GREAT. I love it. But once you drop off plane,,it`ll load back up and start smoking again. I do know i need to drop from the 23 pitch to a 21..That will help some, but I want to know why it smokes so bad.

How old is it? Does it have injection or do you mix by hand?

It's a carb problem. Your getting too much fuel at idle. It could be a bad gasket or several other things.

Yup Roddy was right, it was a carb proplem. I cleaned and re adjusted them and cut the air flow down and it stopped smoking as bad and just waiting to test it out. Thanks Roddyrude
