    Support Our Troops!

I need your help guys. Lots of people say they support our troops, but that is easy when you don't have to prove it. I appreciate what they do because I have been there and I know many of you have as well. Below is a memo that one of our members sent me. His name is Tim Fowler(First Sgt. Fowler at the bottom of page) and he goes by Fowler's Cobra on the boards. On May 27th, his unit is going to be having a Military Family Members Day at the Lake. This will happen at the Cutright Ramp at Monroe Lake in Southern Indiana.

We would donate 3-4 hours of our time giving boat rides and doing a little fishing with some folks and in return we would get to eat at their picnic and more importantly, we would know that we truly helped support our troops. Some of these family members have not seen their deployed husbands, wives, dads or moms in a long time. This would be an opportunity to take their mind off of all that for a day.

I will be there! IM me or Fowler's Cobra or call his cell# at the bottom of the page. Here is Tim's memo:

Take a soldier and his family camping and fishing day

Re: Support Our Troops! (FOWLER'S COBRA)

I will talk it over with the wife. I am leaving that next weekend for Canada but I would love to help out.

Just realized it was on the Memorial Day weekend. I have a family reunion that weekend. I wish I could help but won't be able to make it.

May is aways away, BUT unless nothing happens, I will do my best to be there, provided they can accept a crazy ol jar head. Have marked it on my calander, and will get with Mike later for Directions. Right now you can count me in tho.

Well, I have been stuck in Linton, Indaiana so I can be at Lake Monroe on May 26th. I will drag my boat out here that week. I know nothing about the lake but have no problem helping. I am a veteran and it would be way cool to socialize with some active duty members and their families.

Tim I promoted the event at our recent club meeting. I gave out your number and hope that at least a few can attend.

As I told you earlier my baby girl's high school graduation is that weekend and I am very doubtful but will come if I can work it out as I think it is a special event for some very special people.

Come out and support it guys....you will be doing a good deed and I always get more out of it when I am the one doing the deed than the person that I did the deed for! Plus it should be a lot of fun!

Tim.. wish I could be there, but took a fall and REALLY messed up my back. Thanks for the invite though, and hope you guys have a great time. I know that your efforts will be rewarded some day, if only in how great it makes YOU feel.
