It was tough. Out of 11 boats only 3 weighed fish. We did catch a few on spooks early(short) and my partner lost one close t 4lbs and broke 2 other keepers off on assassins. Big fish was 3.8 and was caught on a black grass frog. Most other fish were caught on soft plastic lizards or creatures. Man once the sun came up it got hot, thought we were fishing in the middle of July. Thanks for the help Mike. We just came up short again. How did you do at Barren?

Well Mike it did not get any better after you left. Got out that weekend and headed back into one of the creeks. I did not want to get to deep in the creek since it was going to be dark soon. Caught a small dinker on a Crawdad color Rapala. My wife and I threw several crankbait colors with no luck. I tossed the jig a few times without a tap.

Next day I went deep into one of the creeks. Had to fight about 5 other boats back in there. Even saw on A-hole pull in and cut in front of 2 of the boats. The fish where back there just could not get them to bite anything. They where making all kinds of splashes but nothing got them in the boat.

Tried Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, JerkBaits, Jigs, Carolina Rigs, and 3 different topwaters. On my carolina rig I tried Bubblegum Fluke, silver fluke, Sweat beaver.

I pretty much threw everything in my boat and then some. Headed back out to the main lake and the wind was ripping and roaring. Had some slight white capping going on which was perfect for burning a crankbait on windblown points and flats.

BLAH Nothing!!! I guess we have about 5 more degrees to drop before it gets going!!
