They were a good, solid motor.
However, it's "age" must be considered. By this time, it's likely in need of plenty of work, even if it's barely been used.
Wiring, fuel lines, and fuel system components are likely heavily deteriorated, and may require replacement.
If seriously considering, recommend (at least):
-Compression test (better yet, a leakdown test)
-Gearcase Check (fluid quality, propshaft runout, shifting quality)
-Maintenance History (and Needs) review
-Oil Injection inspection (especially lines... squeeze, bend and pinch test)
-Test run on the water to confirm proper operation
