<table width="90%" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 align=center><tr><td>Quote, originally posted by ssv1761982 &raquo;</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">Very easy to replace the starter.</td></tr></table>Starter drive is very easy as well if thats all you have wrong with the starter. Run the drive "up" and use a wrench to hold the Hex while using another wrench to remove the nut on top. Then remove the spring and retainer and twist the drive up and off!

Pull the starter, use a butterfly imact to remove the pinion nut, then spin one off and the other on, replace the spring and nut with the butterfly impact. I've the ones that people "hand tighten" spin off. Now, what makes you think the drive is the bad part???

It starts turning over and for a few seconds it's fine ---------- and then it starts to "whirr" and then I have to turn the key off and then turn the key on and it's fine for a few seconds again.

Very easy to change it. Try putting some wd40 on it These get some dried grease on the starter shaft sometime that hurts them. maybee it will work for you
