    trim raising on its own

I have a 95 MERCURY 225HP EFI VIN# OG257714 the boat ran fine when i was out when i brought it home and parked it the motor trimmed up by its self i had thought maybe something had landed on one of trim switches when i had put the cover onnothing on the switches ran the motor back down watched it for a little bit nothing happened went back inside about 1 hour later i heard the trim motor running the motor was up again. so i went and tried all the trim switches they all trimmed motor up and down fine watched it nothing happened went back inside about a hour later the motor trimmmed back up again so i unhooked battery. My question is would the trim relay cause this problem? or do i need to look for something else.
    Thanks

Most likely you have moisture in one of the switches. Pull the power from each one,
one at a time until you track it down. This is a common issue. I've had 2 boats that
have done the same thing and have known other guys who've had the same problem.
Its usually the bow panel switch but not always. One of mine was on a tracker that
had a switch in the splash well.

Sounds like you have a short, moisture in one of the trim switches. I had one that would trim the motor down. turned out to be the switch on the throttle handle

Trim relay isn't "impossible"... but its much more likely that you have a switch that has corrosion or moisture in it.

Bow-mounted trim switch is the "most likely candidate"... as suggested earlier, disconnect the POWER wire from this switch (would be RED or PURPLE)... and see if the problem "ceases".

    If so- replace the switch.
