    Damaged axle on Triton trailer?

I have a 2000 Triton TR20 that had a wheel bearing go out on the trailer. It is a tandem axle trailer & I'm guessing that there was some damage done to the axle even though it looks fine. I have had two different guys try to repair it & both have given up. The last one was my marine mechanic that went thru 3 different sets of bearings trying to fix it & he is the one that told me that there must be some damage to the axle that is causing all of the problems. I really need to get this taken care of soon!! Anyone have any suggestions??

Measure the axle or look at the good one for numbers, and buy a new one. What seems to be the problem with it? Hub loose on the axle, too tight?

I'm not really sure if its loose or tight. I know that the second guy that tried to fix it said he has ordered 3 different sets of bearings & everything looks fine until he gets the bearings on the axle & i believe he said that they just won't fit on there correctly. I have even considered buying another trailer if this axle is going to cost me more than $500, which is what one person said it would cost me if I ordered it from Triton.

You can get an axle with spindles for around $100 and replace the bearings and races for about $20. Paint it yourself and you're on your way.
