I have a 95 Stratos trailer and the trailer jack needs replaced. It appears to be welded on at the part where it turns. How do I take this off to replace it? also its a 20 foot Stratos, how big of a trailer jack do I need? will 1000 lbs do?

There is often a large split ring that holds the jack to the welded bracket on the frame.
Some brands also have a threaded stud fixed to the bracket and a lock nut that holds the jack on. Figure out whether you have the snap ring or stud type and buy the same type of replacement. Just use the new jack on the existing bracket. I have changed out both types in the past with no problem.

There are three types of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't!
Actually the best way - take an angle grinder and cut the welded bracked off. Then you can go to any academy, bass pro, cabela's and get one the bolts onto the frame.
