It offers more horsepower and torque than my 5.4 V8 and gets MUCH better gas mileage. I test drove one, couldn't believe how much better it out performed mine.
I am also going to be getting a replacement for my 05 supercrew. No doubt I'm going with the ecoboost v6.

I have a 2011 F150 SuperCab with the 3.5 Ecoboost. I tow a 520 Ranger. The truck out performs my 2007 Silverado with the 5.3 I came out of. The Ecoboost gets about 3 mpg more than the Silverado during everyday driving. The mileage towing is not great 13.5-14 mpg, but is better than the Silverado which was 12. I would buy another Ecoboost without hesitation.

I have a 2011 Ford 150 Crewcab w/a EcoBoost 3.5 and it out preforms my last Ford 150 with a 5.4. It tows my Champion 188 like it wasn't even back there. I like my EcoBoost and wouldn't go back.

I've looked at them, and man if I was loaded with $$$$, I would be pulling my Champ with one too. Looks to be a really good V6 for towing. Maybe in a year or so, I 'll be able to get a slightly used one for half the price. $40,000 ++ for a new one. Man - that's a lot a money for me.

I don't have any experience with the new ecoboost but I have only heard good things about them. I have a 2010 with the 5.4 and it is a towing machine. It toes my 520 ranger "like it is not back there" and I towed a 31 foot travel trailer at 12mpg with ease. I guess my point is I don't think it can be that much better than the 5.4 but if it is then it is definitely the best thing on the market. I wouldn't spend any extra money to get it personally.
