Help! My Optimax will not start!!

    Guys... And Gals...1999 225 Optimax

Had my motor running last weekend on muffs in the yard a few times when I was doing compression checks. All I did was install my JP and now it will not start!! I never touched the motor's wiring or any controls. It turns over and once in awhile it will spit like it wants to fire.. I am hoping to check for spark tomorrow and it sounds like the injectors are working and fuel pump was also..

    Anything else I should check?

Check the cannon plug where the engine harness plugs into the boat harness under the cowling. It may have gotten pulled on when moving the motor. Did you squeeze the bulb?

Yea at the lake I went through what I could think of that could be the issue. Checked the kill switch, primed the bulb, but never checked the cannon plug. I will look at that today.

You may also want to check and confirm that the BELT (under the flywheel cover) is still intact, and tight.

Beyond that.... go to the basics (Compression, Spark, and Fuel Quality, Pressure and Delivery).

I checked for spark and had good spark. Frustrated I started on the left side of the motor and started looking at every single wire... made it all the way to the front and the wire coupling that runs to the fuel pump was partially disconnected. The snap is bad and they had a zip tie on it and that was loose. I pushed it tight, turned the key and she fired. Hoping to get her to the lake in the next week here to try and run her. Thanks for the help guys.
