    leaking master cylinder on rangertrail

I have what looks like a leak coming from around my master cylinder on my 05 rangertrail. It has the low profile (70 lp) toungue on it. Does anyone have experience replacing one of these and how much can I expect to pay?

Re: leaking master cylinder on rangertrail (bigt)

Just did it on my 05 Z21 3 weeks ago.. It's a easy swap, you can get the parts from Ranger for about 185.00 (that's the complete master and hitch assembly). If it's like mine it will come with a new Delron(sp) sleeve that they want you to put between the tounge and master. But on mine it is way to tight a fit. I'm guessing the later model Z series had this and therefore had the extra space. But since 05 was the first year for ranger to go with the 70Lp I figure they learned they needed it from the use in 05 without it. There is also a pin recall, make sure they send you the new slide pins. The new style have nylock nuts rather than circlips..

Install, bleed the brakes and you are good to go.

    Hope that helps,
    Jeff
