I can get them for $80 or some Goodyear marathons for $130. Are their any others y'all would recommend in that size
carlisle. I sale tires for a tire distributor We recently got the Neptune Master Craft tires in..I would not run them.Carlisle are very good a lot of people complain about them after listening to the complaints it was a road hazard problem not manufacturing problem.. If so you can always send them back to see if they can be adjusted and not cost. By locally from a small tire dealer for a better price and customer service. Interco makes trailer tires a decent tire just plain ugly with the markings on the sidewall. Denman if you can still find them they are decent..I am running Carlisle.

O ok. How much do they run in price? Also how do they compare to the Goodyear marathons?
I don't like Goodyear tires..They don't last long they tend to wear out quicker than others.And GDY are over priced..
I figured they were good because they are on a lot of new boat trailers I see at the boat ramps
I agree with you on goodyear car/ truck tires but i disagree on boat trailers.
My last trailer i went 8 years pulling it an average of 15k a year on the same set of marathon tires and never even came close to wearing them out.
I disagree on carlisles too, my father had them on his trailer and he had nothign but grief wit htme for two years. 4 set of tires in only like 10k miles. Each time it was tread seperation. That shuld not be happening to a tire thats inflated properly and not overloaded. He switched to goodyear marathons and never had another issue.
Thanks for all the advice guys. Going to go look at both today but am leaning toward the marathons just because I have not heard anything bad about them from people around here except they are slightly more than other brands. Also how much room are between the outside top of ur tires from the outside bottom and side of ur fenders. Mine are an inch now but with these new tires it will be 1/2in. Should that be enough clearance even on bumps?

Will 205/70r15 fit a boat trailor that has 215/70r14 without rubbing or hitting when the trailer goes over bumps?
205 is the width 70 is the % of the width for sidewall height.. Google tire calculator and that will help. And yes they will fit..Stick with the stock size.
Well idk the stock size because these I'm positive aren't stock because these are passenger tires and they stick out about an inch past the fenders.

Not all of them. I just put a set on my trailer that were made in the USA.

So went by my local tire shop today and the owner said he has had a lot of people go with the maxis brand trailer tire lately. Any thoughts or experience with these?
They are bout as good as any. I have them on 3 of my equipment trailers and the do fine. I will probbley but them on my boat trailer when I need some.
After having many marathons blow out and going through 2 sets of carilisles in one year, i switch to a firestone indy 500 performance tire 4 years ago and have not had one problem! I sold tires for olmost 7 years and always told people they need to run trailer only tires but i think that is all B.S. the performance tires have a better heat rating and a sidewall that offers flex but not too much flex. They wern't cheap, about $90 each for 215/70/14 but i am very pleased with them. First Firestone tire I have ever bought!
