    A-60 actuator rebuild or replace?

Last year it has been leaking out brake fluid faster than I could replace it. Never could see where it was leaking. But I did notice that the paint is comming off around the tongue from the fluid. I'm struggling to get the rear pin #4 out. I will get it though.

Can I send this in to UFP for a rebuild? How much would that cost? I can buy a brand new one for $160 at BassCat http://www.basscatstore.com/a6....aspx

Is there a kit that could buy and rebuild it myself? Do I just need a new master cylinder? http://www.basscatstore.com/di....aspx

Is there any way I could get this repaired through a waranty? IM's welcomed.

They won't rebuilt it, but will sell you parts to rebuild it yourself but no parts to rebuild the mastercylinder. You will have to buy the whole mastercylinder complete. I would just get the whole new A-60 in be done with it. Get new brake lines while your at it. They will go next being in the water all the time. Don't ask how I know, been there done that. Unless it is less than a year old, NO warranty.

It's a 2003 model. Lyn told me that 8-10 years is their life expectancy. He too said I should replace the whole thing.

Do I really need brakes on this tater chip hull?

you might want to check the hose #28. Mine is 13 yrs old and doing just fine. That hose cracked on me once. The hose is the drain back when the soleniod is energized when in reverse and the master cylinder is engaged. Also I found it easier to work on if you can remove the complete unit and turn it upside down. It is easier to line up the pins.

The soleniod is not always included so you need to ask.

I have been looking at this place http://www.pacifictrailers.com...rakes/. Does not seem much cheaper than BassCat, but they do have free shipping. Also, it seems they carry just about any part to do a rebuild if that is the route you are wanting to take.

They will sell you the solenoid seperately, it does not come with the a-60 assem.

The back-up solenoid?? For the disk brake model it says:

"Complete with an electrical reverse solenoid that allows you to back-up without brakes engaging. Solenoid is covered by housing for protection against damage"

So I think the solenoid is included unless you are talking about a different solenoid?

If you order the actuator for Disc brakes, the solenoid will come with it..
