hitch receiver for 2010 Tahoe 2WD

For anyone towing with the same vehicle, what size drop in the receiver hitch are you using? I normally tow with my Z71 4x4 but elected to get 2WD for the Tahoe and the heights are vastly different.

8" drop is perfect for my 2010 Tahoe 2WD. I'm pulling a tadem axle MFI trailer with 14" tires.

    8"'s My goodness I tow with a 4x4 with a 2" drop.

I would think a straight hitch or even an upside down 2" would put your trailer in a good position.

Does sound a little much.......I measured from approx middle of tube receiver to topside bottom of plate where the ball mounts. It's not a straight down drop. The hitch angles down and toward the trailer. I guess it could be a 6" drop, but no less than that for my vehicle.

I also have a 4x4, and yes I have a 2" drop turned up to get the trailer level.

Thanks for the input. I'll try the straight receiver first.

I've got to use a 8" on my 2010 Tahoe 4WD. For some reason the Tahoes receivers seem to be high. I use a 2" drop on my Z71 Truck.

Here is my Tahoe with the 8" drop on.

This is my Z71 with a 2" drop. I really need to flip the 2" around.

Yes the Tahoes have their hitches coming out of the middle of the bumper. I would think a 6" drop would be about right but it might need an 8".

AHHhhhhh, I do remember seeing one. It looks strange with the receiver hole way up in the center frame area.
You would for sure need to get to the bottom of the frame then get it level.

Someone needs to catch Capt1fish before he buys that straight out hitch. When he looks in his rear view mirror the only thing he is going to see is the bottom of his boat bow.
