    Change to oil bath hubs

I am going to be towing my boat from CA to VA in late September. Would it be a waste of money to replace all the races and bearings on the trailer and instal oil seals and oil hub covers. Or would a remove and inspect replace races and bearings if required, new seals repack and install fresh bearing buddies do the trick. I will be stopping about every 2 hours to check hubs as I wont smoke in the truck so i do my walk around on the smoke breaks.

Re: Change to oil bath hubs (zfort001)

I pull the wheels and bearings, repack/replace as need and stick with the grease fittings. In terms of stopping 2 hours seems excessive. I check them when I get gas every 4-5 hours.
