Brake Light and Turn Signal Lights Not Working

The turn signal and brake lights (both sides) on my buddy's trailer aren't working. Where would be a good place to start looking for trouble? It is a MFI Tandem axle trailer.

The tow vehicle. Check fuses first and then check the ground wires to the trailer.

The lights on the truck are all working fine. I dont think that I have any fuses for the trailer but I will check tomorrow.

Most vehicles have fuses for the trailer in a box under the hood.

I check my fuses today and all of them were fine. I actually had 3 fuses for the trailer. So Im wondering if it just the bulbs. But it seems odd that both sides are out (Stop lights and Turn Signal). The running signals are fine.

If you have another vehicle to plug into the trailer, or another trailer to try on your truck, you can narrow it down pretty quickly.

Replaced the lights with LEDs. They work perfectly now. Thanks guys.

Sorry I'm late to the party, I would have told you to check the ground. Since tyou replaced the lights and likely used a different ground wire, you might have cleared up a simple problem the expensive way. But LED lights are an improvement anyway.

It actually was pretty cheap. Just a couple more dollars than the regular lights.
