Marine Master Trailer- Tandom Axle w/ leaf spring problem

    Hello,

I was recently under the trailer of the boat and noticed the leaf springs on the right side had issues. I have attached a picture of both sides for compare of right and wrong. Does any one know how to go about fixing this and what the root cause may have been?

    This is the correct side.

    This is the wrong side.

    Thanks for any input.

    Jason

As you can see in the second picture the shackle is below the tandem yoke and not above it . To repair ensure everything is in good shape such as no bad springs and all are proper matched sets i.e. length, jack up trailer on that side and undo the shackle that is on wrong. Put the spring up on top above the yoke as required and reattach the shackle so that yoke looks like the one in the first picture.

had that happen to mine one time, before I could address it, it popped back into place on it's own, sounded like a gun going off though, scared the chit out of me.

Probably happened because you ran over a curb or bound it up on the end of a ramp or something.

Just out of curiousity, did you check the tightness of your U bolts on the axles...Mike

probably happened when you backed down too far on ramp and the tire and axle dropped off and when you pulled back out it inverted the shackle.

will not hurt anything ,looks like you backed off of ramp or ran over curb . have had mine pull the front set of axles off of the ground and then they popped back into place as soon as you load the boat or touch something else .
