    Nissan Murano??

My gf is currently thinking about budgeting for a Nissan Murano. I can't say I'm against her getting a compact SUV, but I was curious if this might save me a purchase down the line of an SUV before getting a boat. Given, this is still very early being that I am in grad school for the next two years; I wanted to start thinking about what type of boat I would want, as well as what I would toe it with.

So will the Murano be able to tow an 18-19' Triton? Either way I think I'll look toolish in a Nissan, but while I'm paying off student loans, I figure it might be a nice transition until I pick up a Tahoe or something later down the line. Criticise if you wish, I just wanted some thoughts on towing power. Thanks.

I have a Nissan Murano (2004 - AWD). GREAT car. Tows up to 3500 pounds, 300 lb max tongue weight with ZERO issues. I haul an 18' G3 HP180 w/ 150 Yammie OR a 19' Lowe Deck boat with 150 Johnson (surge brakes on the trailer). Neither is an issue. IF the Triton rig is within the spec limits, you'll be fine.

I know a guy who tows a 20' Champion with a 200 hp with a Murano and has for several years. He claims the variable tranny works well towing. He mostly fishes the Upper Cheseapeake and southeastern PA so he's not going up a lot of hills but I have followed him and acceleration is not a problem.
