My trailer has brakes on all four wheels. The primary brake shoe(front) always wears out much faster than the secondary shoe, and it is the smaller of the two shoes. The brakes have the single piston wheel cylinder which pushes on the primary shoe.
Can these wheel cylinders be replaced with the dual piston wheel cylinder(pushes on both brake shoes) giving better braking and more even brake shoe wear?
Or is there a reason surge brakes use the single piston wheel cylinder?
The master cylinder is the a-60 model. Drums are 10 inches. All that is needed is the wheel cylinders and four of the rods or pins that push on the shoes to convert them.
Thanks in advance...![]()
