Noisy sloppy, weak brakes.

I noticed at some point my Ranger Trailer has gotten pretty sloppy, they brakes are working, but not nearly as good as they once did, I also notice I can feel and hear the trailer clunk and then shift forward when comming to a stop.

The trailer has minimal miles on it, maybe 600 or so miles since new, I know the brakes do work because I had issues earlier in spring with the actuator not releasing the brakes when backing up (fixed that loose wire) Noticed I'm come in a little hot on some turns, expecting some more braking from the trailer....

Where to start and what to look for? The trailer is still under "warranty" but I do believe I have a $150 "deductable" from Ranger if I bring it in.... Money is tight enough at the moment, I can get by as is, but I'd like to look at fixing it myself first. (plus I got until next August)

the clunking noise and shifting forward sounds like you may have air in the brake lines. try bleeding them and see if that works.

yes, I can bleed the brakes no problem. But I want to know if there are any adjustments I should be doing? and why it got this way in the first place. I am wondering if bleeding the brakes is only a temp. fix, and why it got this way in the first place?
