I have trailer buddy..my trailer is less than one year old..My brake all of a sudden started locking up on backing up? Does anyone have any ideas whats causing the the brakes to lock up? I also notice the hitch pin is missing.Where does this plug in? what the purpose for the hitch pin??
The trailer two axles and disc brakes i think the model is db35..please let me know.thanks Gary
Your reverse light fuse is blown on your tow vehicle or your trailer brake solenoid is bad.
Don't know what you are calling a hitch pin. The only one I know of is the pin you put into a hole on the tongue after you hook it up to the vehicle to keep the tongue latch from popping open going down the road.
Sounds like you may need a solenoid and a hitch pin kit, What brand of trailer is it?....

Its the solonoid, the reason its not locking up when you are backing down the ramp is that the actuator is fully extended as it goes downhill. On level ground or up an incline the solonoid ativates when the vehicle is put in reverse and allows the fluid to by pass and not cause the brakes to activate. If the solonoid is bad the brakes squeeze when backing on flat ground or an incline.
