Ameri Trail Question Guys?

I have a 98 ameri trail gambler trailer. It has some kind of shock absorbing piece on the toung. The problem is that it moves back and forth when you take off and stop, maybe about 1 1/2 inches in and out. I can't see this being right because it makes the boat kind of slam every time you take off. Any help with this would be great. Thanks Alot.

Are you talking about the actuator for the surge brakes?

That could be it, I know it has somthing to do with that. But it just does not seem right, maybe it could be wore out or somthing because like i said it make the boat slam when you take off and kinda bump when you stop.
