I have a trailer with oil bath hubs. On one side it looks like oil on the rims. Is this normal or do I have a leak? Can't really tell by looking what the oil level is in the hubs. Any way to check this without using the site glass?

It's leaking. Most likly from the fill cap threads or the o-rings on the cap. Mine leaked for years untill I put the new style caps on and used red rtv silicone as a sealant. No more leaking hubs for me.I got mine from UFP ...

If the oil is on the outsdie of the rim, check the fill plug first to see if they are tight, 8-10 ft lbs....if its tight it may be the orings in the protector......If it leaking out the back, you may need to reseal....Therer are specific sealing instructions and the seal has been updated...give me a call.....
Thanks Lyn. Going to try and look at them tonight. Pouring the rain here right now so may not be able to.
