First shot. I was shooting uphill at him and thought I missed because of the speed he was running off and no signs that I had hit him. About a 1/2 hour after my first shot i see him below me (I was in a stand) limping around and his leg stained red. I got down from the stand and was walking down our ATV path and he had stopped just off the left of the path and was licking his wound. I sat down on the path and waited about 15 minutes for him to walk across the path so I could finish him off but got impatient. I scooted down the trail and got a clear spot to shoot at him that I think I missed. He took off down hill so I go further down the path and he's aff to the left again staring right at me. Sighted him up, boom.... he takes off again across the hill. Bastard had some resolve. This time though there was fur and a blood trail. He ran another 60-75 yards before he dropped, busted up leg and all. Which sucked because I had to drag him through thick stuff across the hill before I could go down the hill.
Judging by the leg shot I had him lined up right but jerked the trigger instead of squeezing it which dropped the slug low.

My cuz was still hunting a blackberry thicket with tree tops down, and saw a deer bed down. Thinking it was a doe, he made his move...BANG...8 pointer. Good thing he hadn't spent his buck tag yet!!
