Looking to re-barrel a Ruger #1 that I bought 30 years ago - just to re-barrel into a 22 rim fire. Never got around to having it done. Thinking about it again, only going with a 17 HRM.

I honestly don't know if you can re-barrel a single shot centerfire like the Ruger #1 to a rimfire.
Try the 24 hour campfire forums. It's a gun lunatic's hangout. There's a Ruger forum, singleshot forum, custom gun forum, along with many more. There's several gunwriters and custom builders that hang out there. I'm confident you can find what you want to know.
If all else fails, you could always re-barrel to a .204 Ruger...
Yes, the #1 can be made a rimfire. Seems the guy I had in mind 30 years ago specialized in rimfire, but is no longer working.
I'll keep looking. All else fails it may become a .204
