    Missouri Help

Okay gents.... I was invited to make a hunt opening week of archery, Sept 15th, on a friend of mines lease in Southeast Missouri. All the crops will still be out, corn and beans, so how do I go about getting on some deer. They have woods, wooded draws and wooded creeks. Any suggestions would help. The farmer said he will mow anywhere we would like so we can access the woods/creeks. Thanks in advance. I have never hunted this early in the year.

If it helps, we are hunting near Elsberry, Mo.

Scout, set up on well used trails. The bucks are still bunched up. Does and yearling will be hanging out together. Best of luck.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking but not sure if I should set up near the fields or closer to any bedding areas we may find. Thanks again.

Hunt your food sources and wAter sources. Set yourself back in the woods a way if there are feilds. Your good bucks will stage there til dark

The deer will be in the bean fields in the evenings if any is available. Like seasor said find where they are coming out into the fields and follow it back into the woods and try to get set up between bedding areas and the field.

I would think this early in the year the bucks shouldn't have a care in the world. I'd get close to the food source, climb high and hunt the wind. Show us a bloody arrow Sept. 16th

I believe you are correct about it being in the northeast. Thanks to you all for the tips and suggestions. Hopefully I have some photos to post in a few weeks.
