    Processing a Hog

I take my deer to be processed and have always gotten Jerky, Hamburger, and Cubed Steaks. A buddy of mine has setup a couple of fields just for hogs and I want to take one with my bow. How would you get the hog processed?

    Thanks,
    LeAlan C.

You put the whole deer into those three??? No thin steaks? No oven roast? Man, 80% of my deer go into minute steaks. Just pass 'em over a hot skillet with olive oil and some seasoning--YUM! Then there's always schnitzel, stroganoff, etc.

Don't know about the hog. They make bacon out of pigs, don't they?
Some people are so judgemental. You can tell just by looking at 'em.--Some random meme

Re: Processing a Hog (BP in ME)

We kill hogs on our lease and take the ones that are piglets up to around 150 to 200 pounds and carry them to the processor whole. We dont skin them or gut them due to the diseases they carry and our processor prefers them that way. We get Smoked Sausage, Breakfast Sausage, JALAPENO CHEESE SMOKE SAUSAGE (YUMMY), Snack sticks that are like slim jims, Bone in and boneless pork chops, roasts, ribs with the bigger ones, and it's all good. You can get all kinds of things done with them, just make sure you cook it well, so there is no question that comes with undercooked meat. Our processor doesnt do back because i believe that bacon comes from the stomach section or something like that. Kill them and enjoy, you wont be sorry !!! Some of the best eating you will ever do, if your a master on the BBQ.
