For those guys who coyote hunt, how long do you wait in one spot for a coyote to show up after and during calling? I have a hand call, thought about getting a mechanical decoy any thoughts...

About 20-30 minutes. I hunt around pastures. Move from one end to the other.

+1 I camo up good and put out a turkey decoy or a peice of fur to help bring 'em in.
20 minutes. You really need to get a flag(attractor) and an electronic call. You don't have to go overboard (price) with the call either...but you need to go electronic. Steve
i'll wait about 20 minutes. I have used mostly hand calls and had good success. I did get a plastic rabbit and the second time I used it an owl smacked it.

+1 don't coyote hunt much, but we always used turkey dekes with a combo of lost yelps and kee kee's. worked everytime
Which brands of the cheaper electronic calls are good / bad? Need to pick one up.
I have a FoxPro which might be a little more pricey than you are looking for but is an outstanding call. On the other hand I really enjoy using a reed rabbit in distress call, I have had great success with the Les Johnson Ruffy Dog brand of calls. Google up Preditor Quest.
What ever you do try and stay away from anything that is not wireless. I was looking in Cabelas and they have this rabbit decoy that has a call built in. 70 bucks. Might be a good way to go?
20 minutes on coyotes and i hang around another 10 minutes if i think there might be a cat in the area
20 minutes here but 95% of the action has always come in the first 5 minutes.
Some people are so judgemental. You can tell just by looking at 'em.--Some random meme
