    Best shotgun choke?

Just got benelli. What would be the best all around choke for it? I will mainly be dove hunting and skeet shooting. I use a modified in my 870. But I sometimes have trouble reaching out and touching them. I was thinking about something between the the modified and full. I believe its a improved modified. What do you guys think?

I have all of them for my Benelli so I always have the right one. Super full for turkey, improved for ducks, modified or improved for doves, I like the modified for rabbits too but some like improved. Mine came with most of the chokes.

You did not get some chokes from Benelli when you bought it? I'm surprised. My Beretta Xtrema2 came with 5 chokes, so I figured the Be3nelli would be the same. Go to http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php and get some opinions on from the Benelli forum

THe benellie should have had 5 with it too. For dove, just shoot a regular factory modified and you should be fine....A dove is not a tough bird, so I would think modified would be fine for long range too.

I pretty much shoot Modified for it all with my 870. Rabbit, dove, and duck.

Improved cylinder is gives the largest spread correct?

Also does anyone make a full choke to use with Steel?

Improved Cylinder is the most "open" choke. Of course, you can remove the choke tube and simply shoot the gun with an open cylinder.

Regarding full chokes that a compatible with steel shot, look at the Benelli factory chokes or Briley if you want an aftermarket tube.

No offesne Jeremy, but I would not shoot a gun without a choke in it. You can damage the threads! Also, according to benelli, you can NOT shoot steel out of a factory full choke. Berettas you can...kinda silly. Briley, Kicks, patternmaster (my fav) wad wizards....the list goes on and on...

chokes have come a long way. you now buy them application specific ie over decoys or pass shooting. If I had to chose one brand it would be a Patternmaster not cheap but the best on the market

For what you are shooting at (doves/skeet) the factory chokes should be all you need. I will use a mod. choke 90% when shooting lead at doves or skeet. When duck hunting with steel shot I use a Patternmaster ext. range choke. I'm shooting a Benelli SBE 1 w/ a 24in. barell.

DO NOT shoot without a choke in the barell. There is a choke that is labeled open cylinder for your Benelli.
