Blinds are ready and some ducks are here

We finished our blinds this past weekend and there were quite a few ducks already there. The first one is our open water "big" blind, I am across the hole about 50 yds. The second is our timber "little" blind, I am also across the hole in it, but it's only 30 yds.

Can't wait til the day after Thanksgiving.

I'm sure that can be arranged.

Of course that depends on the boat. If it's my boat, it's for sure.

Looks good buddy! Duck season in Missouri has been open for a little over a week now...limits have been very easy - that cold front last week really pushed them down! The reports I've been getting say that the ducks we had in Missouri last week are starting move on down the flyway, with Reelfoot holding plenty!

LOTS of woodies! Mallards, Gadwall, Greenwing teal, Widgeon, and Shovelers have been the main ones filling our limits.

Ducks have been a mofo here in central IL. The birds have pushed their way farther south every year making me have to travel to get to them. I am going to plan a Stuttgart AR trip next season..screw it!

    Nice blinds by the way

Awesome looking blinds. Looks a lot like Reelfoot. I'm starting to see a few around here on the ponds and the river. Deer season is in full swing here and duck season is starting the 27th of this month. I LOVE this time of year. If only I didn't have to work.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. The blinds are about 5 minutes from mom and dads house, so I get to stay with them and hunt with my dad, so you could say I'm a little spoiled. I will be there for about 2 weeks around Christmas, so if any of you are free and want to go, give me a call and we'll see what we can work out.

6 hours and 12 minutes to your location from mine.....Hmmmmmmm. May have to take you up on that. I am planning on a trip to Stuttgart AR next year. I have to go and see Mack's Prairie Wings in person and the site of millions of ducks!

I bought a box of the Black Cloud 3.5" #4 I believe. I want to give it a shot. I hear good things about it but they say it is amazing when you buy one of the special chokes made for the ammo. I will try it without the choke first, I just need to get out first

I got lots of vacation time!!!

But I'm nervous, you still gotta get me back sometime and you might trick me into walking into a hole and floatin' my hat or something.

No, I'll just put you out on a beaver hut before daylight and come back and get you about dark.

Let me know if you want to come over and go. We might even have to shoot Mike's corn field.

I used to hunt it quite a bit when McLemore had that farm. There are a couple places in there that will kill them, just gotta know where they are.
