    Nice stink goat.

What is the story behind the kill? What distance was the shot?

I see a bipod on what appears to be a Remington 700. Did you shoot on the pod in a prone position.

Actually it is a Model 70 Winchester in .270. It is actually my brother's gun, he took the pic and my gun and pack was about 250 yards from there. He said I needed a gun in the pic so we set his down there. I shoot a T/C Encore in 25-06 when goat hunting. Shot was at a WHOPPING 80 yards. The set-up was PERFECT. They were coming toward me and there was a drain about 120 yards from me that they were going into. I ran down the draw I was on and got on the other side of the hill they were over. I sat on the groound with my bi-pods out and waited for them to show. His three does crossed the top of the drain about 80 yards from me and when he started across...BOOM. The goat from this year was shot at 327 yards with the same gun only in a 28" pro hunter barrel. Had to work for him...stalked about 400 yards. Lot's of stooped over running, fast duck-walking and some crawling. Ranged him and got ready for the shot...NOT!!!!! To out of shape and all that stalking got my heart rate up. At 327 yards with a HARD heartbeat...the crosshairs were jumping all the way off the goat everytime my heart would beat. Laid there a good 6-7 minutes to get calmed down enough to make the shot. Zeroed in at 2" high at 100 yds and held crosshairs right on his back at top of shoulder...squezzed one off and center punched him. Steve
