This was the second year Jason Housley and the Hunter's Journal crew made the trek to Kansas to hunt with my buddy Daris Meitler at Wolf Creek Outfitters. They took this deer early in the Kansas muzzleloader season this year.

The deer in the first and second pic is the same deer. It's head is turned a little more and you are seeing the G2 as the brow tine . Nice looking deer .![]()

I thought scopes on muzzle loaders were illegal in Kansas? That's a great deer and I really like watching the Hunter's Journal.
Putting a scope on a muzzle loader was made legal this year. Took them enough time to do it.
That's good to hear. I don't know why some states have antiquated rules like that. They can often be a hinderance to newcomers getting into the sport. As I say, I really enjoy watching the HJ and a big congrats to Jason Housley. Awesome buck!

I thought the early season in Kansas was for primitive muzzle loader though? Only open sights?
