Late season/post-rut Dec.---- i'm sitting on the very edge of a big oak flat, fixin' ta ruin the day of a nice buck 50 vertical feet down on another flat, waiting for the clear 80yd. shot.... hear a crash on my left, the buck's head comes up just as mine leaves the scope... and i see a big black bear tearing into a stump about 75 yds to my left. i recheck the buck, he's stock-still... then the bruin starts ambling his way along the ridgeline trail, 60yds. straight towards me...

DMN right i cleared out! Scared the chit outta all 3 of us!!

im sittin in the stand on a hot october day, frustrated from the heat and not seeing any deer. wait...i hear movement, crap its a squirrel in the tree behind me. i start watching the squirrel in boredom when he makes his way to my tree, branch by branch, he keeps coming and coming...before i knew it he was a few feet above me on a limb. i look up and he couldn't of timed it any better, he pissed all over my forehead and cap. you think it's bad when your pissed off, try being pissed on.

Another one!--- spring turkeys---early am, work my way into a laurel thicket over a damp cool hollow... toss out a coupla purrs and putts... fargin' black gnats start eatin' me alive---mask ain't stoppin' em'... give a coupla more toots then i pack it in after about half-hour, walk 1/2 mile back to truck, lay my unloaded shotgun on the hood whilst i flap my way onto the road and into the sunshine, whirling like a dervish to get those pesky blood-suckers offn me.
I hear crunch..crunch.. figure they've run my partner outta the woods as well...crunch..crunch... where's charlie??...
You got it! Fargin' TOM steps up outta the ditch, RIGHT in FRONT OF THE TRUCK, gun laying on the hood, i'm 15' away... he looks at me, decides i ain't no turkey(he was wrong!), and walks off!!
