Do any of you folks have one of these rods? If so what do you think of it? I bought one and now that I have it home it doesn't seem balanced very well. Seems really tip heavy. Just curious as to what you folks thought.
Thanks,
Josh

i have a Crucial and Quantum KVD 7'11" rod. I prefer to cast the Crucial. On those days I'm deep cranking all day the Crucial wins hands down.
what 7-11 specifically? I use the H and XH for punching, I don't feel like they are tip heavy at all.
Question everything!
Here is the model that I have. CRCX711HA. I haven't had it on the water yet. And it may all be in my head. It is a big stick to say the least.

Don't know about the Crucial, but I just got the new GL2 7'11" H swimbait rod and its perfect for the Arig. Paired it up with a Core 50MG7 and 65lb. powerpro braid.... one bad combo for the Arig!!
(Its the pool stick at the end of the rod rack)![]()

I don't think a 7' 11" will balance with any bass reel.
I bought the 7' 11" M 1/4-3/4 to throw dd22's as I wanted a lighter action pole with more bend than the MH they recommend.
I have only had it out in the cold yard. Paired it with the new Diawa T3 and threw off all the 14lb line short about 30' with a 3/4 oz plug . I am impressed with the distance, but have to either get another reel or go down to 12 lb line to get full distance potential.
I like the rod, and look forward to covering more water per cast.
Thanks to everyone. I put a Curado 200 E7 on it the other day. And like you stated I don't think any reel will perfectly balance this pole out. Just way to much stick. I tied a 3/8oz tungsten weight to the line and wend out in the yard and done some casting. You can flat out bomb a 3/8 weight alone! I can only imagine when you put something with some weight to it on there. I'd say the spool will be visible! I'm going to use it mainly to throw 4" tubes T-rigged a long distance to some finicky smallies. The extra length and the stouter rod will be a huge help. I have been using a Quantum Alliance 7'6" Heavy action and it just isn't long enough to take up line like I want on those long hook sets.
One positive note, I snapped mine only two weeks of use...4 weeks later, I had a brand new replacement from shimanothey have very good customer service.
Thats good to know. I have a tackle store that everyone goes to around here and he is a huge Shimano guy. I talked to him last week and he told me that if I called him ahead of time he could have a replacement within a few days! Pretty awesome!
