I bought a 03 boat with a 250 XB on it??? I assumed the motor is a 03 as well?? The question is did they make the XB motors in 2003?? i have heard the last year they made these models were in 2002???
Also, can the Mercury Smartcraft guage work on this motor???

Last year for XB was 03, and no they are not smart craft compatible.

"Technically" the XB was built through 2002. However, there were a number of them that went out in 2003 (listed "box" date).
If you can provide your serial number, we'll be glad to see what information is available on your specific engine.
The XB is not Smartcraft Compatible.

I asked Don the same question a couple days ago on the smartcraft with the same unwanted answer. Maintenance is your best friend now and maybe this (http://www.bbcboards.net/zerot...30616 but we have to make sure it all works. Just done it to mine, at wot i think it will grab my attention.Mounted mine a little higher so i dont have to look down to see it. I bought the shop manual from don to make sure i keep it in as best condition as i can. Read every post i can here on the xb.
