    batteries

Been trying to charge my 2 TM batteries all weekend....they lasted 1/2 day on saturday. I have had 1 plugged in for 2 days and the meter on the charger still says no charge. Batteries were bought new in Aug 08 How long should it take with a 6 amp charger? On board charger gives me 2 green lights but i know they are dead..

    Any opinions?

OK, so i will check and refill with distilled water if needed. How long should they take to charge with a 6 amp charger if totally dead?

I would think 12 hrs should be plenty of time. If they are not dry then 1 or both batteries are bad. Also if you take them to get them checked at autozone or whatver they may check ok but still be bad. I've always been told if you replace one tm battery you need to replace both or all three. Those batteries should be under warranty.

I would get the batteries tested first. If they test good then check the charger out. Usually the onboard charger has has a fault light that is lit if the batteries won't charge

I just refilled my batteries yesterday with distilled water. I used a funnel for an easier pour and I overflowed each cell a little. After the caps were on I just wiped the excess off with a towel. Should this be ok or should I have not filled them all the way?

Usually, there is a little "ring/orifice" app 1/4 inch below the inside top of the battery. You should only fill them to that, since the battery level changes with charge.

App 12 hrs should be good. Mine will charge in app that time even after running the TM for two to three days.

Put both banks on the same battery. They should both read the same as they charge. If they don't you have a bad bank on the charger. After fully charged switch to other battery. When both fully charged pull and bring to Auto Zone for full test.(Free). Now you know if it's the charger or the Battery. Battery carries a one year warrenty. Replace if needed.

I've had batteries that my onboard charger couldn't charge that I used my portable Ship N Shore charger on and they charged fine. If your battery gets sulfated many portable chargers have a desulation mode on them to take care of it, the charger just continues to cycle on and off until charged.
