    What tool kit?

    What tool kit does everyone have for on the boat? Looking at buying a set for the boat this yer and would like to get opinions. Thanks

    I got one of the kits that comes in the flat plastic box. Made sure it had wire cutters, a wrench that would fit the spark plugs and enough variety to cover on-the-water issues. About $40.

    I just put together a kit of my own.
    Pliers,assorted wrenches and screwdrivers, sockets and ratchets,vice grips,
    wire cutters and strippers,electrical and liquid electrical tape, duct tape,
    assorted wire connectors, adjustable wrench, jumper cables , portable jump starter,extra fuses and bulbs, a couple bungee cords , a tube of marine epoxy,
    different size SS C--clamps,extra pull cord , prop ,prop pin and nuts for trolling motor,

    Use a old amry ammo box. Put everything I think I might need in it, wrenchs, wiring items inlcuding connectors. Everytime I work on the boat if there is tool that I need that is not in there it goes in the box when I finished.

    No matter what you load you will never have just what you need.....don't forget the wire ties, I have seen them used for some pretty amazing things..
