Last year my hot foot was sticking alittle bit, not bad but it just returned really slow and it didn't do it the first year I had it. Is there a way to lube the cable, this is my first boat with a hot foot so I'm not really sure.

replace your cable. guarantee you don't want it to break at WOT like mine did...
how hard is it to do that. Like I said. First time hot foot user here. I thought there was a way to lube and grease the cables.
You can disconnect the cable from the pedal to see if it is the cable that is sticking or the pedal itself. I had a pedal that the aluminum corroded on and made it really stiff. If that's the case, you can take it apart and scrub it with a wire brush to remove the corrosion. Then lube it up with something (like WD40) so it works freely. If it is in fact the cable, best to replace it as mentioned above.![]()
Replacing the throttle cable is not that hard. Just disconnect it at the pedal and motor, paying close attention to how it is hooked up. Once disconnected, connect the new cable to the old via some wire or tape and use the old cable to pull the new cable through the boat. Should be pretty easy really.![]()
If you are worried about getting everything back together correctly you can use a digital camera or camcorder to record how it looks before you take it apart. This will then provide a guide for putting it back together exactly how it was. I do this often when performing a complicated dissassembly whether it be my boat, truck, etc. It has saved my butt several times when scratching my head during reassembly.![]()
Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to disconnect and check it first. Hopefully will save my self from having to buy any cables. Seems like i'm replacing everything this year.
