Do any of you have your L/U s top 4 holes pluged in a 2003 225 EFI? Did it all the time on 2.5 200 EFIs.Just need to know if it is doable on this motor. I think it is the low pressure high volume water pump.
PS it does not have the low water pick ups. Thanks.

If his 250Xb lower is like mine it has the Low water pickups, Wouldn't think you would want to plug any without having the Low water pickups.

How many holes do you have in it ?
I think it is 6 or 8 per side. I used to plug the top 4 on each side on the 2.5 200.

If eight, i would do top two and see what the pressure is, three might be your max. Just watch the pressure.
I got a 01 225efi that i was gonna plug the top 4 lower unit water intake holes. My lower unit on my 225 has 8 holes on each side and 4 in the front but doesn't have a aftermarket low water pickup. Is this how your lower unit looks?

If you dont have low water pick-ups I wouldnt plug any. My 3l 225 has a high volume water pump where most 2.5l motors have high pressure water pumps. Your pressure and volume are directly related but I wouldnt want to starve out the volume on a 3l. Don would be the "word" on this issue.
I put scoops on mine to help force water in.

Sandman said that he had four holes in the front. That is the low water pickup. He should have no problem plugging the top four holes on each side.

Yeah my factory lower unit has 4 holes in the lower unit shouldn't be a problem. S
They got a a thread on here about plugging the top 4 holes in the lower unit somewhere. I've had a few people on the Bullet part of the forum tell me it would be fine so I'm gonna go for it so I can raise my motor higher.

That's the one. I think I need to raise my motor higher to get more mph out of my Bullet, and to keep my water pressure up I'm gonna have to plug some holes on my lower unit.

This is recommended ONLY for the Torquemaster gearcase.
Just make CERTAIN your gearcase has the four inlets in the NOSE of the gearcase (if it does NOT, plugging the side inlets may actually starve the water pump of cooling media/water).
