    Blown 250XB

I have a 2002 250XB that the #6 rod broke on due to an injector leaning out. I'm not sure if the crank is good but will have it checked. I bought a new Pro XS and am wondering what to do with this one. Any ideas on the value of the motor as is or if I am better off parting it out or rebuilding and selling? Any advice would be helpful.

More than likely, parting out that engine would result in the highest "net return".

Sorry to hear about the blown motor. I have the same model and year. Did you ever isolate why the injector leaned out in #6. Was it a fuel restriction issue, overheat, or ??? Curious for future reference since they generally are reliable. Good luck with your new motor. You should not have any problems selling the parted motor. ECU/ECM,heads, etc are always "wanted" items. Best of luck.

If it did not window the block, you might think of having it rebuilt, Those motors still bring good $$.

Justin... you've got an IM about the intake/fuel management setup.

    Re: Blown 250XB (EuropeanAM)

Sounds like there was some debris in the tank and that is why #6 leaned out. (best guess) My cousin is coming over to part it out starting Tuesday. My plan is to take resonable offers and if it seems fair I will sell first come first serve. If it seems low I will research and counter. If you have a good place to bowhunt deer I will have some cheap parts! I will have it posted in the motor parts forum. email or call me with questions.

"Sounds like there was some debris in the tank"(What exactly does this mean if you are able to help us out)?. Sorry to hear about your problem for sure and I will definitely check the motor parts section for sure. Please let us know when posted? Thanks.

    Re: Blown 250XB (oldgeezer)

There was material that looked like black sand in the tank at the fuel pick up. I'm not sure how (or if) it could make it by the fuel filter. Regardless #6 leaned out at WOT and I tried to fix the problem myself for nearly a year before a tech was able to get the boat to act up, but that is also when it blew.

sounds to me like you may have some fuel lines degrading ....better make sure the lines are good and the tank is clean, or youll be blowing that new proXS....
