    TPS adjustment

Its been several years since adjusted a tps and forgot which wires to hook to.
I did'nt use the merc adapter, i took straight pins and pierced the wires to hook the volt meter to but forgot which wires. I had wrote down the volt ranges.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: TPS adjustment (topwater1956)

Is there any possibility that you could identify your engine.... preferably including the SERIAL NUMBER?

We use ONLY the Computer Diagnostic System, or the TPS Test Harness for adjusting the TPS.

As I understand from others that have attempted the "wire pinout" method, it's easy to obtain BACKWARDS readings.

Try the two outer pins FIRST (3-wire TPS).... Four wire-plug TPS units need to use the appropriate test harness.

    You're looking for .95VDC at idle (+/- .05).

Most run quite well in the .95-.98 VDC range.
