Here's how I do it. I run the shoreline/or ledge with the side imaging, and mark some spots to fish. then I spin the unit around facing the front and turn it to the gps/boat track screen. It shows me what direction the fish are and about how far to cast. It works pretty slick.
Just get another SI and you won't have a problem.

I have my 1197 at the console on a ram mount. If I want to veiw it from the front i can spin it forward. but of course the transducer is 20 foot away....rick
yeah just buy another one had to sell my youngest to get this one ...j/k
Sell the oldest and you should have enough to buy another one
