    08 225 opti alarm volume/loudness??

So I had some alarms earlier in the year that I had taken care of, but I noticed that the alarm on this boat is A LOT quieter than my old boat with a 2000 150 efi. Do the newer motors have quieter alarms or what? At WOT with all the wind blowing, engine noise, etc I can barely hear the alarm if it goes off, just curious if thats normal or what?

It depends where the alarm horn was mounted when the boat was rigged. You probably can move it where you can hear it better. The other possibility is that you have a bad horn. Look under the dash for the horn. I do not think that they have changed how loud they are.

+1 ... LOCATION is likely the key.

SUGGESTION: Take a look at the following post. We often add a RED LED STRIP LIGHT on the dash (IMPORTANT- USE ONLY LED LIGHTS for this purpose):

I HIGHLY recommend this- but would also STRONGLY recommend RED LED's, as they're more likely to catch your attention.
