Not receiving notification of unread i.m.'s. I used to have new i.m.'s pop up on screenas they arrived -- when i was on the bbc site ----now I don't see this and have missed some important i.m.'s ---what can I do ???

You must still have a popup blocker turned on, otherwise they'd pop up.
You can go to "My Profile" at the top of the page to check on your Instant Message History for the past 5 days (after 5 days they're automatically deleted.)
