    Water pressure on a 2008 250XS

    My water pressure gauge stopped working on my boat this past weekend and was wondering where on the engine does it come from. Boat still has water pressure coming from the pee hole and I ran the engine for a long time after so I'm sure that the gauge is broke or the line from the engine is damaged or plugged. It is a regular pressure gauge not digital. Any Thoughts?

    Jamie:

    At the BACK of the powerhead, you'll see a small GRAY tube. It comes out of the PORT (left) side, at the BOTTOM.

    This line is "teed"- one running to the ENGINE's water pressure sensor, the OTHER running FORWARD towards the rigging tube.

    The hose running towards the rigging tube is the one that operates the analog gauge.

    If trying to "blow out" this line- MAKE SURE IT IS DISCONNECTED ON BOTH ENDS (at the gauge, and at the TEE on the engine). You do not want to force debris into EITHER the gauge, OR the ENGINE's WATER PRESSURE SENSOR.

    BTW... do NOT assume that you have adequate water pressure, just because you see a telltale stream. The telltale on your engine is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT cooling circuit for the AIR COMPRESSOR (separated from the engine's cooling circuit at the adapter plate).
