Its an 07 on a 07 Triton 21 X. Problem is it starts to pull right at about 60 or so and you really have to saw on the wheel all the way up. It has a 25 pitch merc prop. I did the checking with everything level. To center of prop shaft was 10 3/4 and to bottom of hull was 16 1/4. just trying to get it more stable in the low 70's. I have around 2 inches left on the jack plate to go up with and about the same down.
wow your measurements dont sound right at all im sure you will be getting some post soon on those numbers. You are measuring something way wrong

yeah thats why I am checking it out. I was told level trailer both ways and did and then level motor via the cavitation plate. I then measured to the center of the prop shaft and then to the very bottom of the hull at the center. Measured it many times and checked level with different levels etc. Pretty much same all around. This is how I was told to check it.
...........if your measurments are correct, you have the prop 5.5" prop to pad. This means that your propshaft is 5.5" below the bottom of the pad. Crank up the jackplate 2" and get your pad to center shaft as close to 3.5" and it will run much better. I am no Triton expert, but you are running your engine too deep and this is the reason for poor performance in the boat.......................RR

When making these measurements, you must measure to a straight-edge that's been HELD against the BOTTOM KEEL of the boat, and extended back so it's beside the gearcase.
I do agree that you're too low.... that rig should EASILY spin a 26P Fury or a 26P Tempest, and depending on your loading, carry you at 77-82 MPH.

This is a former Bass Master Classic boat and I know they just set it to normal settings when they let the guys use it.
It hasnt really bothered me that much before until it started tearing up all the time. It broke down yesterday again.Luckily it was a fuel line clamp and I got that fixed on water.
Thanks Don on the How too as well as others. I was measuring wrong and at wrong place,person who told me first didnt tell me the straight edge deal either but thats nothing.. It was at 4 inches so I came up a half inch and gonna lake test it.
