250xs cuts off

When I am back in a no-wake cove for a long while fishing and start up and start heading out, the motor will cut out basically running out of gas it seems. I'll have to pump the bulb at that point quite a bit to get it started again. I may have to do this several times, depending on how far I have to get out of the area. Once on plane, if I get it to that point, it's just fine. My partner in a tourney was pumping it while it was cutting out and the bulb would stick shut for a bit and slowly come back. Would this be a restriction from the tank to the bulb? I just replaced the bulb as well with no luck there. Thanks.

Bulb or fuel line is de-laminating. Replace the fuel line and bulb with the blue lettered merc stuff from the tank to the mota.

Also Don may not want to hear this but the service out of BRP fuel lines have been about 100%. It is about $7/ft though.

Already replaced the bulb as mentioned. Any chance this could be a blocked fuel cap vent? I'm gonna check that out as well. The fuel lines were replaced with the high grade stuff last year but maybe there's something in the spliced fitting. I'll try cleaning that out as well if it's got anything in there. Again, does this sound like a restriction from the tank to the bulb or from the bulb to the engine? The bulb squirts fine when removed from the engine hose. Thanks.

Do you have the GRAY LINE with BLUE PRINT?

From your description, one of the following is likely:

-Delaminated fuel line
-Faulty or blocked anti-siphon valve
-Plugged pickup tube in tank
-Plugged fuel tank vent (or LIQUID LOCK in the vent hose)
-Weak Fuel Pump (pulse fuel pump.... note- this damage is often caused by ANY of the above items).

Also, make sure you have NO FILTERS installed between the fuel tank and the engine!

Ran out of gas again today...kinda on purpose to find the problem. When it happened, I removed the gas line to the engine from the bulb and could not squeeze out much gas. I think it is at the fuel tank. Possibly something plugging it up. Has anyone replaced the gas hose from the tank? How hard is it to get to? Is there any access plates, etc under any of the seats or would I have to just cut a hole being careful not to cut into the tank? Thanks for any info...

Correct me if I'm wrong..... but in reading your above post, you ran it out of gas, disconnected the line, and couldn't get gas to come out.

Might that be due to running it out of fuel (you said you ran it out... I don't see that you added any)?

I don't mean I ran it out, simply that I went back fishing into a long cove with a no wake for a while and that made it not take off, running out of gas, which was the problem. I then pulled the hose and could barely get any to squirt out so just came to the conclusion that the problem is at the pickup hose. It took me an hour to get it running again, constantly pumping the bulb. Last night I pulled the seats only to find the hose hits the tank behind the middle seat which I can reach from either hole behind the driver or passenger seats but almost impossible to pull. Must have been some real winners who put these boats together. I'm fixin that today and then pullin the hose.

DUDE....REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL LINE with the one DON is recommeding...It worked for me and about 300 other folks on here....easy, simple, fairly cheap fix...

Why replace something that was already replaced last year as I already noted. It's in the pickup end in the tank. I did remove the desiphon ball and it seems to work fine as of right now. We'll see. Now to put this Talon on.
