    HEY DON!! 2003 225 Opti is hesitating on take off, & has rough idle??

    At idle it seems to be "jumping" more noticeable when at idle in gear, also when you go to full throttle on hole shot, it seems to lag just a little before "spooling up" , but seems to run fine at full throttle. but when at partial throttle or idle there is a noticeable miss. I put a fresh set of NGK's in her but it didnt fix problem, could this be fuel related?

    Certainly COULD be fuel related.

    A couple of items you might want to check:

    -Air compressor filter
    -Belt (ensure it's clean, tight, and undamaged)
    -Fuel Lines/Primer Bulb (see: http://www.bbcboards.net/zerot...first )
    -Pumping primer bulb firm before EVERY engine start?
    -Fuel Quality (separate 6 gallon tank, connected directly to engine w/fresh fuel to rule out problems in your boat's fuel supply)
    -Spark plugs: Did you utilize NGK: IZFR5G spark plugs, gapped at .032-.033"?
    -TPS: Sweep test of TPS voltage to watch for "glitches" in the voltage as throttle is slowly increased to WOT, and slowly DECREASED to idle

    A sweep test of the TPS involves utilizing a Digital Voltmeter with an appropriate adapter harness, a DDT, or the Computer Diagnostic System to monitor TPS voltage.

    Confirm starting TPS voltage is within range. Slowly advance throttle while watching TPS voltage. Voltage should "increase" smoothly, with no "drops" in voltage or "dead spots".

    Repeat while DECREASING throttle. Voltage should decrease smoothly, with no "increases" in voltage or "dead spots".

    Repeat both increasing and decreasing throttle tests SEVERAL times until you're confident of your results.
